Rules and Regulations for Examination
1. The Global Open
University, Nagaland admits students in the Bachelor's
(B.A., B.A. Hons., B.Sc., B.Sc. Hons., BSW, BBA, BCA, B.Com.,
B.Com. Hons., B.Lib. & I.Sc.) Degrees; Master's (M.A., M.Sc.,
MSW, MBA, MCA, M.Com., M.Lib. & I.Sc., LL.M.) Degrees and
DCA, ADCA, PGDCA, DIT, ADIT, PGDIT courses under Distance
Learning mode.
2. Every admitted student gets a permanent Roll Number
mentioned in the Identity Card and in all types of
correspondence between the student and the university.
3. The Examination Form is sent to all the admitted students
for enabling them to appear in June and / or December
Examination.
4. Those admitted in December / January Session are eligible
to appear in the next June and December Examination if they
are admitted in a degree programme where semester system is
applicable. Those admitted in a degree programme where
annual system is applicable, will be eligible to appear in
next December Examination. Those who are not able to clear
the examination in time may appear in the next examination.
5. Those admitted in June / July Session are eligible to
appear in the next December and June Examination if they are
admitted in a degree programme where semester system in
applicable. Those admitted in a degree programme where
annual system is applicable, will be eligible to appear in
next June Examination. Those who are not able to clear the
examination time may appear in the next examination.
6. All theoretical papers are of 100 marks. Out of this 30
marks are allocated for internal evaluation based on the
progress made by the students. This evaluation is done on
the basis of the Mini Project Reports (Assignments) of
around 50 pages prepared by them on a particular topic based
on all the subjects studied by them. All Mini Project
Reports (Assignments) must be submitted by the students
before filling up the Examination Form. The semester /
annual examination will be for the remaining 70 marks to be
conducted at selected examination centres.
7. The last date for the submission of filled up Examination
Form along with the examination fee of Rs. 150 per paper is
30 April for June Examination and is 31 October for December
Examination. The Examination Form may be downloaded from the
website of the university www.nagaland.net.in Those
submitting the Examination Forms after the last date are
required to pay late fine fixed and notified by the
university from time to time.
8. The Admit Cards are despatched to all the examinees for
enabling them to appear at the allocated examination centres.
If they do not receive the Admit Cards in time, they may
appear in the examination by showing their Identity Cards.
9. The Master's Thesis is to be submitted on a topic
approved by the university. The Master's Thesis is to be
prepared preferably under the supervision of a Guide having
expert knowledge of the topic selected by the student. If no
Guide is locally available, permission may be granted to go
ahead without a Guide. The Master's Thesis in two copies
(around 200 pages in A4 size paper) along with a CD
containing the entire Master's Thesis must be submitted by
the student two months before the final examination.
10. The results will be declared within 90 days after the
examination. The minimum Passing Marks for each of the
theory papers is 40% both in internal (assignments / mini
project reports) as well as in external (semester / annual)
examination. The minimum Passing Marks for the Master's
Thesis is 50%. The aggregate Passing Marks will be 45% after
adding the marks of all the papers completed by the
examinees.
11. Those securing 45%, 60% and 75% will be declared Pass in
Second Class, First Class and First Class with Distinction.
12. Examinees interested in getting their Answer Sheets
re-evaluated may send a request along with a Re-Evaluation
Fee of Rs. 300 per paper within 15 days from the date of the
declaration of results. If an Examinee gets higher marks in
the Re-Evaluation process, the same will be recorded in the
tabulation records as well as in the Marks Sheet.
13. The Degree and the Marks Sheet(s) with Holograms of the
university will be issued to all the successful candidates.
14. The admission of a student will be valid for first five
years. If all the examinations are not cleared within this
period, new registration will be required in order to
continue as a student in the university.
15. Examinees must report in the examination hall 15 minutes
before the commencement of the examination.
16. Examinees shall not be allowed to consult any form of
written / electronic material, whatsoever, while writing on
the Answer Sheet. If the Examinee is found to do so, the
invigilator shall have every authority to seize all
materials and the decision regarding the expulsion or any
other action taken by the university will be final and
binding on the Examinee.
17. Any form of misconduct on part of the Examinee shall
result in the cancellation of the Examinee's paper.
18. If any Examinee is found to be under the influence of
alcohol, while appearing for the examination, the
invigilator will have the authority to disallow the Examinee
from appearing for the entire / remaining examination.
19. The Examinees must return the Answer Sheet(s) after the
completion of the time allotted for the said examination.
20. Smoking in the Examination Hall is strictly prohibited.
